Introducing the Demeter AI Assistant (Alpha)

We're delighted to announce the alpha launch of the Demeter AI assistant - an agent that lets our customers interact with Demeter's data using natural language.

The assistant integrates with the Demeter platform and draws on our ever-expanding range of datasets across relevant fields. It is designed to reason intelligently about agricultural value chains and deliver domain-specific insights.

It is particularly useful for working with map files, freeing the user to run analysis without opening GIS software. Its extensive sector knowledge supports users with limited technical grounding in agronomy while offering significant leverage to those with expertise. The alpha version is temporarily restricted in data domains and workflows supported, but it marks a major step towards lowering the barriers to understanding dynamics in agriculture value chains.

What you can do with the Demeter AI assistant

The assistant is at its most powerful when asked to support analysis of a specific portfolio or document. During the alpha phase, users can ask location-specific questions like:

• "Which grape varieties are suitable for planting on specific vineyard sites?"

• "Which assets in this portfolio are likely to face the lowest disease pressure?"

• "Identify the top quartile of growers in my sourcing footprint in terms of frost resilience"

• "Which of these avocado orchards would you expect to be the most challenging to underwrite from a lending perspective?"

Future releases will grant the assistant access to more of Demeter’s coverage areas, including crop plantings and water - helping you gather insights faster, navigate datasets more easily, and work more efficiently.
