A water map of California
A European investor wanted to understand the complex water resource landscape of California, and how it plays out in crop production.

Demeter expanded its existing datasets to include maps of all irrigation districts and GSAs. These were enriched with pricing data and management policies.
The map layers were married with data on land use within the irrigation districts.
The Demeter team has used this as a basis to further expand coverage with statewide cost of production data.
Olive value
chain in Iberia
An ag services company was working on a market entry strategy for the Iberian peninsula. They wanted to know the key players and their physical locations in the Iberian olive oil market.
Demeter used its value chain methodology to create a proprietary dataset covering over 1,000 olive mills in Iberia from scratch. The dataset included a map layer and was enriched with data including ownership, capacity and capabilities.

This exercise was subsequently repeated for the entire northern Mediterranean.
